Picking a Platform

It is interesting to see the different types of ePortfolios and the benefits they have towards the person who is running the site. I found some sites to be very easy to access and navigate through while other platforms I found to be very confusing and hard to figure out.
While creating my own ePortfolio I have had the chance to try a couple different platforms and see what worked best for my vision. I started out using google sites for my platform during my first course (5302) at Lamar but found that the site, though easy to navigate, didn’t have the accessories I was looking for to add to my ePortfolio. I then tried WordPress but found that platform to be a little more tricky to navigate. Finally, I settled on Wix to be the platform to show off my work and vision as a teacher. I found Wix to be easy to navigate and it had all the accessories I was looking for.
Having an opportunity to learn how to navigate through these sites and show off our work has been an interesting adventure. I am not one to showcase my work as I’ve never been the best student. I always give 100% effort but I don’t always feel like it shows when I finish my work. So having this platform to show others what I’m doing and who I am as a person and a teacher has been a bit out of my comfort zone but it has also allowed me to see that the work I am doing is beneficial and has inspired me to put in more effort and not be afraid to show others what I am working on.
