  • Pilot Year

    • Department heads and team leaders will “pilot” the first year of the blended learning implementation.

    • Department heads and team leaders will be informed about their involvement in the first and second years of implementation

Step 3: Implementation

  • Department heads and team leaders will view the following resources:

  • Department heads and team leaders will be given time to discuss:

    • Thoughts and concerns

    • Grading policies

    • Responsibilities of each teacher

  • Teachers will set up their own Google Classrooms to help with implementing Blended Learning into their classrooms.

September 2021

  • Department heads and team leaders will introduce Google Classroom to their students

    • Explain how blended learning will work.

    • Where to find information for each class.

    • How to access activities and videos.

September 2021 – May 2022

  • I will meet with department heads and team leaders once a month during PL time (9 times total throughout the 2021-2022 school year) and discuss implementing blended learning into their classrooms

  • By the end of the 2021-2022 school year, department heads and team leaders will be comfortable with the information and will become “Blended Learning Experts”

  • Department members will discuss progress or pushbacks at each PL meeting.

June 2022-July 2022

  • Request FLEX time for PL Sessions in 2022-2023 school year

  • Requested FLEX will be for all “Blended Learning experts” (department heads and team leaders). Each PL session will be dedicated to planning for full school implementation.

August 2022-May 2023

  • All teachers/classrooms in the building will implement Blended Learning.

  • Teachers will participate in 9 PL sessions throughout the school year.

    • Every other month, all building teachers will meet for a PL session (large group)

      • Department heads and team leaders will lead these sessions (I will oversee)

    • In the other months, teachers will meet with their departments (small group)

      • Department heads will lead these sessions.  Team leaders will be available for additional support during this time.

  • Teachers will be collaborating with their team members throughout the school year so that each student’s team of teachers are consistent with the Blended Learning requirements/expectations

    • Because each “team” in the middle school has a scheduled team meeting daily, this will provide support for each teacher during the implementation process

  • Department will dedicate 15 minutes to their monthly department meetings to discussing progress/concerns with the Blended Learning implementation.

June 2023-August 2023

  • Reflect on full-building implementation

  • Make necessary changes to curriculum/Blended Learning expectations

August 2023-May 2024

  • Continue full-building Blended Learning use with any modifications that may be needed.
